🔧 We Service Both Gas Types
R134a – For most vehicles made before 2014
R1234yf – Required for most cars from 2014 onwards
Not sure which gas your car uses? We’ll check for you — no pressure, no guesswork.
Why it matters?
🚗 Why Air Con Servicing Matters
Your car's air con naturally loses around 10% of its gas every year. That can lead to:
Warm air blowing out
Fogged-up windows that take longer to clear
Bad smells or musty odours
Extra strain on the system (which shortens its life)
A regular service keeps everything running fresh, cold, and efficient — just how it should be.

Car Air Conditioning FAQs
How often should I re-gas my car’s air conditioning?
Most manufacturers recommend a re-gas every 2–3 years. Even if your AC still feels cool, low refrigerant can reduce performance and damage internal components over time.
What’s the difference between R134a and R1234yf gas?
R134a is used in most vehicles built before 2014. R1234yf is a newer, more environmentally friendly gas required in most newer models. We’ll always check and confirm the correct gas type for your vehicle.
How long does an air con re-gas take?
A standard re-gas usually takes around 45–60 minutes, including system checks and performance testing. If a leak is found, it may take longer depending on the issue.
Can you re-gas electric or hybrid vehicles?
Yes — we’re fully equipped to service hybrids and electric cars. These often use different systems and require specialist equipment, which we have in-house.
Will a re-gas fix a bad smell coming from my vents?
Not usually. Bad smells are typically caused by bacteria or mould in the system. We recommend an antibacterial treatment alongside your re-gas to fully clean the vents and evaporator.
What does your antibacterial treatment do?
It disinfects the AC system, killing bacteria and mould that cause odours, helping to keep the air inside your car clean and fresh.
What happens if you find a leak or a fault?
If we detect a problem, we charge a £42 leak check fee. This can be deducted from the full investigation cost if you choose to move forward with a repair.
Can I re-gas the system myself with a DIY canister?
We don’t recommend it. DIY kits can overfill or underfill the system, cause damage, or mask a bigger issue. A professional service includes proper vacuuming, leak detection, and accurate refilling to manufacturer spec.
